A native of Atlanta, Dr. Mark Codner is known for his genuine kindness, his soft-spoken manner, and his individual attention and care of his patients. Dr. Codner trained at Emory University, Cornell Medical Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City, and did dual aesthetic and oculoplastic fellowship training with Drs. Baker, Gordon, and Stuzin in Miami and Dr. Sonny McCord in Atlanta.

Noted for his training, leadership and research in plastic and oculoplastic surgery, Dr. Codner’s research and innovation has advanced procedures with improved outcomes in eyelid surgery, facelifting, rhinoplasty, breast surgery including minimal visible scarring in endoscopic transaxillary breast augmentation. Dr. Codner is also committed to help treat women with breast cancer by performing breast reconstruction .

Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Emory University, Dr. Codner has authored 10 textbooks, over 100 articles and invited book chapters, and given over 200 lectures around the world as an educator in his field of medicine. Dr. Codner is Chairman of both the Atlanta Oculoplastic Symposium and the Atlanta Breast Symposium, which brings leaders in plastic surgery from around the world together to share information.

Dr. Codner is recognized by his peers, having been awarded the prestigious Sherrell Aston Award by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has been invited to perform educational surgery in Cairo, Rio de Janeiro, Canada, Peru, and Belgium. He volunteers his service to his specialty with leadership in the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. These privileges help maintain the quality of future plastic surgeons.
