A Thigh Lift tightens and reshapes sagging or loose skin around the thighs, and may reduce excess fat or bulges of the inner or outer thigh.

Thigh lift may be appropriate if you have trouble reshaping your thighs despite exercise or weight loss, or if you have lost a significant amount of weight and wish to reduce excess sagging skin.

Treating the outer thigh generally requires an incision from the natural lower crease of the buttocks extending forward, hidden under a modest bikini brief. Treating the inner thigh requires an incision in the groin area that may extend downward. If liposuction is involved, this can be accomplished without additional incisions.

Generally outpatient, under general anesthesia, a thigh lift may require an overnight stay when combined with other procedures.

Recovery depends on the extent of your procedure. Light activity can be done the day after your surgery; a return to more normal activity may take 2-3 weeks. A compression garment may be recommended during your recovery to help reduce fluid retention and shape your new curves.

Results can be long-term, but weight loss/gain or pregnancy may alter your appearance.

“You were a very great comfort to us. Your concern and empathy helped to ease the extremely anxious and trying hours. My husband was touched that you stopped by to see him in the subsequent days, taking time out from your other busy schedule. A doctor’s competence is of course of paramount importance. You also have that rather rare quality, humanity, which we value. We are certain your patients will be as appreciative of your care as we were.” Ruth & Abe
